MOSERS is seeking an Investment Risk & Performance Analyst

The Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS), located in Jefferson City, Missouri, is looking for an ambitious individual to fill the position of Investment Risk & Performance Analyst. This position will be a member of a 3 person team that is responsible for analyzing risk and performance data of the $8 billion dollar fund.

The MOSERS portfolio consists of investments in public equity, public debt, and alternative asset classes including private equity, private debt, real estate, commodities, and timber. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, mathematics, accounting or closely related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Benefits Technician Job Posting at MOSERS

The Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS) has a position available in its Benefit Services section. The Benefit Services section serves as the member contact center for MOSERS.

Responsibilities include interpreting and applying statutory provisions to determine a member’s eligibility to purchase/transfer service; writing correspondence; filing life insurance claims; assisting with long-term disability processes; auditing benefit calculations and employment records; and preparing benefit estimates. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of technician level experience, a college degree can be substituted for the experience requirement. Experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Anticipated starting salary is approximately $31,000. Advancement opportunities may be available in the Benefit Services section for employees with college degrees. MISSOURI STATE ARCHIVES INTERNSHIP IN AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY

The Missouri State Archives invites applications from graduate or advanced undergraduate students who are interested in working with the many collections of primary source material related to African American history in Missouri held by the Archives.

The African American History Internship is part of the Archives’ commitment to foster a broad public awareness of the rich and important contributions of African Americans to Missouri, to offer new resources to historians and others who are studying the history of African Americans in Missouri, and to provide new tools for primary and secondary teachers in Missouri’s schools.

Projects in 2012 include research relating to African American Missourians and the Civil War and Reconstruction. The intern will assist in projects leading to the development of Archives’ exhibits and other ongoing research projects at the Archives.

Three thousand dollars will be awarded to the successful candidate for 10 weeks of work, at 40 hours per week during the summer of 2012, at the Missouri State Archives in Jefferson City and/or its St. Louis branch. This monetary award is intended to defray travel and living expenses, and other work-related costs. Applicants must either attend a Missouri college or university or be a Missouri resident. Interested students must submit a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a college transcript, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member who can describe the applicant’s qualifications for this award.

The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry a forty-pound box and climb a ladder to retrieve materials.
