Process Improvement – Certification Processing Time

The Office of Equal Opportunity reviewed available data alongside valuable feedback from the customer and identified an opportunity to provide better services.


In 2018, the Supplier Diversity Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Certification program took an average of 154 days to process an application.


By 2020, the average days to certification was 74 days – a combined average of  48% reduction in the time it takes to process the program applications. Reduction in processing time by application type from 2018 to 2020:

  • Standard app decreased by 34%;
  • Rapid In-State decreased by 69%;
  • Rapid Out-of-State decreased by 66%.
