State of Missouri’s Workforce Development Program

History
The state’s Workforce Development Program was established in 2010 to ensure the State of Missouri is a workplace free from discrimination that affords equal opportunity to all present and prospective employees.
Purpose
The purpose of the Workforce Development Program is to enhance the State’s effort to provide equal employment opportunity, eliminate any potential discriminatory barriers throughout the full employment cycle and improve workforce development and inclusion.
Objective
The program shall (1) ensure awareness of workforce development before hiring decisions are made; (2) prohibit the departments in the executive branch from engaging in unlawful discriminatory practices; and (3) place a strong
emphasis on recruitment, retention, and upward mobility as methods to enhance the State of Missouri’s work force through equal employment opportunity and workforce development.
